Default Armor closet tab for storage

Some gamers like to have more than one set of armor. Whether its for various stats or different styled armor and different dye colors. But each set takes up 5 slots in storage or in someone's backpack/belt/bag. So why not have an armor closet in storage?

It can have 5 set sections, each with 5 slots, each slot holding a certain armor piece. Each section would have a slot for headwear, a slot for gloves, a slot for body armor, etc. Any misc separate armor pieces can go in regular storage.

And a way to click or double click a section to change into that armor without switching pieces individually.

Also, infused armor should stay infused even if you change armor pieces. When gamers already did an infusion run for them, why should they have to do it again?

I know that an armor tab has been suggested before but I'm not aware of the specifics I thought of.

because each piece of armor has many modifiers requiring more bandwidth to tell you what is in that slot.

they will add storage for 1 byte items to save bandwidth freeing up regular slots for high bandwidth items like armor

be thankful they made it so 1 run does the whole set instead of having to do 5 runs per set the old way.

if you feel a need to change an armor piece go and infuse it

While I agree that armor storage is a good idea, I'm not sure the proposal is "future-proof". The 5x5 system sounds like it would hold 5 suits of armor, yes? That's good for up to five characters, but what happens when you have 6, 8, or 10 characters on one account? Or worse, for several characters with more than two sets of armor?

To be successful, you may need a storage solution that is not account-focused, but character-focused. Perhaps something in a guild hall, which resembles a row of hall lockers, with each locker for an individual character. I could see that system having a 5x5 internal layout, (or 2x5 or 3x5 if the information storage requirements are too much).

The "equip suit of armor" button, however, is brilliant. A one-click change... It would only work, however, if the storage is for a single character. Either that, or the button (in account storage) gets disabled if the character browsing is not the owner...

But is this all going too far? Perhaps. The "quick and dirty" 5x5 account-based storage may be simple to implement, and may work for the majority. That could mean it is more likely to be implemented, but it is not robust, and may not solve the problem for the long-term...

That's a good point about multiple characters. But it would still help. Or maybe the armor closet tab would be different for each character that accesses it. Each character has to pay to access storage. I'm not sure if it's the same for the materials tab, but I assume it is.

the "equip suit of armor" sounds interesting. I would suggest that the armor tab have 2 skeletons and the body parts be filled up when u equip the armor on to it (need you to imagine this). If ever Anet needs a good gold sink, this is it as the gold needed to make a full set of armor amounts to quite a lot. plus ppl like to collect stuff so having an armor wardrobe for them will only encourage them to buy more sets of armor.

One click armor sets would be great. Imagine one click and you're set to resist fire attacks. One click and you're set on Druids armor for more energy.

Once click skills and attribute set would be cool too. With my Ranger, I can quickly switch from BP to UW Trapper to regular build.

Yeah me too. If you used one colum or row of spaces in the storage per character, that's not a lot if you have that many characters. I guess just buy another character slot, get it to post searing, get the belt pouch, bags and runes of holding, and use the chararacter itself as storage.

Sounds like armor templates like the skill templates coming in Nightfall.

You dont really need another slot for just armor really what most people need (most being nearly everbody) is the storage to be tripled or more... or can imagine what will happen cant you? "Storage Upgrade 26 more slots only $4.99" :P

/signed i have three types of armor just for my monk. this would come in so handy instead of more often going to merchant to sell items when you are farming.

i WANT more storage. for armor & just stuff.

someone mentioned the hope of being able to buy an extra 20 slots one day either through the GW store or through the npc like we did with material storage. i'd LOVE that idea. heck, if we could buy it through the GW store (say $10 for 20 slots) & you could buy as many slots as you wanted until storage got to 100 slots i'd be totally game! OR i'd be willing to buy it the same way in game with GW gold. more storage is always good.

right now i'm using extra characters to hold my armor. but it's a BIG pain to have to switch characters & put the armor in storage every time i need another kind of armor.

someone else mentioned having sort of a locker system thingy in the guild halls. that's also an awesome idea. but what about the guildless people? & what if you leave one guild & go to another one? will stuff automatically follow you? or do you have to take it out? what if you just go solo for a while? then what? ....

i ACTUALLY want both lol the ability to get extra storage space & a place to put armor. b/c i don't really want to take up my "stuff (materials, dye, runes, weapons) storage" with armor. we just need the space.

what if GW came up with an extra NPC like the storage npc? except it'd be armor storage. it would be in each town like storage. be near the regular storage, you'd have to pay to access it like we do with regular storage. we could buy extra spaces like written above? b/c i only have 1 set of armor for some characters. but i have 4 for my ele. the amount of storage space needed would be different for everyone. it could cost "x" amount of gold to hold 1 set of armor. you could buy as few or as many as needed. of course it would probably have to max out somewhere, but it could go on a tab system so the storage - if someone had purchased A LOT of space - box wouldn't take up the whole screen.

we just need storage space!! lol for everything!!!
